Ingredients
Red yeast rice.

Characteristics
This product is a capsule with purple-red powder inside; it has a slightly sour odor and a bland taste.

Functions and Indications
It removes dampness and phlegm, promotes blood circulation to remove blood stasis, strengthens the spleen, and aids digestion. It is used for shortness of breath, fatigue, dizziness, headache, chest distress, abdominal distension, anorexia, and other symptoms caused by spleen deficiency and phlegm-blood stagnation; hyperlipidemia; it can also be used as adjuvant therapy for cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases caused by hyperlipidemia and atherosclerosis.

Dosage
Oral. Take 2 capsules each time, 2 times a day, after breakfast and dinner; for mild to moderate patients, take 2 capsules once a day after dinner or as directed by a physician.

Adverse Reactions

1. Generally well-tolerated, with most side effects being mild and short-lived.
2. Common adverse reactions include gastrointestinal discomfort such as stomach pain, abdominal distension, and stomach burning.
3. Occasionally, it may cause reversible elevations in serum aminotransferase and creatine phosphokinase levels.
4. Rarely, it may cause fatigue, dry mouth, dizziness, headache, muscle pain, rash, gallbladder pain, edema, conjunctival hyperemia, and urinary tract irritation.

Contraindications

1. Hypersensitivity to this product.
2. Active hepatitis or unexplained elevations in serum aminotransferase levels.

Precautions

1. During medication use, regularly monitor blood lipids, serum aminotransferase, and creatine phosphokinase levels; patients with a history of liver disease should especially monitor liver function when taking this product.
2. If serum aminotransferase levels increase to three times the normal upper limit or serum creatine phosphokinase levels increase significantly during treatment with this product, discontinue use.
3. Not recommended for use by pregnant or lactating women.
4. The safety and effectiveness of this product in children have not been established.

Pharmacological Effects
