Ingredients
Rehmannia glutinosa, Panax notoginseng, Hirudo, Bombyx batryticatus, Pheretima, Atractylodes macrocephala, Curcuma aromatica, Artificial Calculus Bovis, Arca subcrenata, Moutan Cortex, Rhei Radix et Rhizoma, Hordei Fructus Germinatus, Gallus gallus domesticus Endothelium Corneum, Cornu Bubali Concentrated Powder. Excipient: Betadex.

Characteristics
This product is a dark brown concentrated pill; slightly aromatic, bitter in taste.

Actions and Indications
Strengthens the spleen, nourishes the liver, cools blood, activates blood circulation, softens hardness, and dissipates masses. Used for chronic hepatitis B and early-to-mid-stage post-hepatitis B liver cirrhosis with syndromes of liver-spleen deficiency and stagnant heat intermingling, manifesting as hypochondriac pain, abdominal distension, fatigue, dry mouth and throat, reduced appetite, sticky stools, yellow urine, etc.

Dosage and Administration
Oral administration. 6g per dose, twice daily or as directed by a physician. One course of treatment lasts 3 months.

Pharmacology and Toxicology
Animal studies demonstrate that this product reduces serum ALT and AST activities and alleviates hepatocyte degeneration/necrosis in rats or mice with acute liver injury induced by D-galactosamine or carbon tetrachloride. In rats with chronic liver injury caused by carbon tetrachloride, it lowers serum ALT, AST, sialic acid, and hepatic proline levels, mitigates hepatic fibrosis, and elevates total serum protein, albumin, and the albumin/globulin ratio. In immunocompromised mice (normal or dexamethasone-induced), it enhances carbon clearance rate, serum hemolysin production, and ConA-induced splenocyte proliferation.
