Domperidone Tablets are used to treat symptoms related to the digestive system.

I. Main Effects and Functions

  • Promoting Digestion: Domperidone Tablets can directly act on the stomach wall, stimulate gastrointestinal motility, accelerate gastric emptying, and thereby alleviate symptoms of indigestion such as stomach bloating and abdominal distension.
  • Relieving Abdominal Pain: By coordinating the movement of the stomach and duodenum, shortening the time food stays in the stomach, and promoting rapid digestion and absorption of food, it facilitates the passage of food into the intestines, thereby relieving abdominal pain.
  • Suppressing Nausea and Vomiting: Domperidone Tablets can suppress nausea and vomiting, especially those caused by delayed gastric emptying, gastroesophageal reflux, esophagitis, etc.
  • Improving Other Related Symptoms: Such as belching, flatulence, and a burning sensation in the stomach, Domperidone Tablets can also provide relief.

II. Dosage

  • Adults: 3 to 4 times daily, 1 tablet each time (usually 10 mg), with the dose potentially doubled or as prescribed by a doctor. However, please note that the maximum daily dose should not exceed 80 mg.
  • Children: For children over 12 years old and weighing more than 35 kg, 3 to 4 times daily, 0.3 mg per kilogram of body weight each time. Children should use it under medical guidance.
  • When taking the medication, it should be taken 15 to 30 minutes before meals. If taken after meals, absorption may be delayed. Additionally, the tablets should be swallowed whole, avoiding chewing, breaking, or crushing them.

III. Adverse Reactions

During use, Domperidone Tablets may cause some adverse reactions, including:

  • Common Adverse Reactions: Dry mouth, headache, insomnia, nervousness, dizziness, drowsiness, fatigue, etc.
  • Gastrointestinal Reactions: Abdominal spasms, diarrhea, reflux, nausea, a burning sensation in the stomach, etc.
  • Skin Reactions: Skin rash, itchiness, hives, etc.
  • Other Reactions: Stomatitis, conjunctivitis, etc.
